Introduction
Tense (काल)
Introduction:
There are mainly three kinds of Tense.
1. Present Tense (वर्त्तमान काल).
2. Past Tense (भूत काल).
3. Future Tense (भविष्य काल).
1. Present Tense (वर्त्तमान काल).
There are four types of Present Tense.
A. Present Indefinite Tense
B. Present Continuous Tense
C. Present Perfect Tense
D. Present Perfect Continuous Tense.
2. Past Tense (भूत काल).
A. Past Indefinite Tense
B. Past Continuous Tense
C. Past Perfect Tense
D. Past Perfect Continuous Tense
3. Future Tense (भविष्य काल).
A. Future Indefinite Tense
B. Future Continuous Tense
C. Future Perfect Tense
D. Future Perfect Continuous Tense
Present Indefinite Tense
Present Indefinite Tense:
पहचान: इसके हिंदी के वाक्यों के अंत में ता है, ती है, ते हैं आदि लगा रहता है जबकि अंग्रेजी के वाक्यों (English Sentenses) में मुख्य क्रिया (Main Verb ) में varb का First form होता है |
जैसे -
मैं आराम करता हूँ | I take rest.
हमलोग कार चलाते हैं | We drive a car.
वे मेरे साथ रहते हैं | They live with me.
वह हमेशा झूठ बोलता है | He always tells a lie.
सुमन पढाई करती है | Suman studies.
तुम नकद समान खरीदते हों | You buy articles on cash.
Structure of Sentences वाक्य की बनावट:
A. Affirmative Sentense:
For Plural subjects (I, we, you, they and plural Nouns)
Sub. + V1 + Obj.
मैं हमेशा बीमार रहती हूँ |
I always fall ill.
तुम प्रतिदिन व्यायाम करते हो |
You take exercise every day.
हमलोग समय का इंतजार करते हैं |
We wait for time.
For singular subjects ( He, She, it, Name and singular Noun) के साथ
Sub. + V1 +s/es + Obj.
वह पैसे चुराता है |
He steels money.
राम ईश्वर की पूजा करता है |
Ram worships god.
लड़का सब कुछ जानता है |
Boy knows all the things.
कुत्ता भौंकता है |
Dog barks.
B. Negative Sentense:
Sub. + do/does + not + V1 + Obj.
Examples:
For plural subjects (I, we, you, they and plural Noun) के साथ do not लगाया जाता है |
(1) I do not play music.
(2) We do not write a letter.
(3) You do not tell a lie.
(4) Children do not play ludo.
(5) Cows graze grass.
For singular subjects ( He, She, it, Name and singular Noun) के साथ does not का प्रयोग किया जाता है |
जैसे :
(1) He does not take rest.
(2) She does not run fast.
(3) It does not remove dirt.
(4) Raju does not go to school.
(5) The cow does not give milk.
C. Interrogative Sentense:
Syntax:
Helping Verb:
(i) Do/does + sub. + V1 + obj ?
(1) Do you run fast ?
(2) Does she wash hand ?
(3) Do I like movie ?
(4) Does Mohan sing a song ?
(5) Do boys quarrel among themselves ?
W. H family:
(ii) W.H + do/does + sub. + V1 + obj ?
(1) What do you see in the sky ?
(2) Where does she go to study ?
(3) When do they get up ?
(4) How does he drive a car ?
(5) What does Mohit buy from shop ?
Translate Into English;
(1) हम लोग सुबह में नदी पार करते है |
(2) सभी विद्यार्थी अपना काम समय पर पूरा करते हैं |
(3) क्या भारत हमेशा मैच जीतता है ?
(4) वे लोग तुम्हारे घर क्यों नहीं आते हैं ?
(5) मैं किसी का इंतजार नहीं करता हूँ |
(6) तुम प्रतिदिन कहाँ जाते हों ?
(7) वह कैसे यात्राएँ करती है ?
(8) मेरे माता-पिता शहर में रहते हैं |
(9) बच्चें रोज संध्या में हॉकी खेलते हैं |
(10) क्या गायें रोज दूध देती हैं ?

(13) आप लोग किसका इंतजार करते हैं ?
(14) समय किसी का इंतजार नहीं करता है |

Present Perfect Tense
Present Perfect Tense
किसी भी परफेक्ट perfect tense में कार्य का पूर्णत: होना पाया जाता है | इसके हिंदी के वाक्यों के अंत में क्रिया के साथ चूका है, चुकी है, चुकी हैं तथा चुके है आदि लगा रहता है अथवा या है, यी है, या ये है लगा रहता है |
जैसे -
मैं खा चूका हूँ |
मैंने खा लिया है |
I have eaten.
वह घर जा चुकी है |
वह घर चली गई है |
She has gone to house.
Syntax for Affirmative Sentense:
Subject + has/have + V3 + object.
Example:
मैं पिता जी को एक पत्र लिख चुकी हूँ |
I have sent a letter to father.
मेरे शिक्षक ने मुझे पढाया है |
My teacher has taught me.
राधा ने बहुत अच्छी नृत्य किया है |
Radha has danced very well.
उसने एक शेर देखा है |
She has seen a lion.
मेरे दोस्त ने मुझे बुलाया है |
My friend has called me.
Syntax for Negative Sentense.
Subject + has/have + not + V3 + object.
Example:
वह अबतक नहीं आई है |
She has not come yet.
हमलोगों ने ताजमहल नहीं देखा है |
We have not seen the Tajmahal.
उन्होंने ने नए कपड़ें नहीं बनवाएं हैं |
They have not made new clothes.
राम ने पढाई पूरी नहीं की है |
Ram has not completed study.

Past Indefinite Tense
Past Indefinite tense:
पहचान: इसके वाक्यों के अंत में ता था, ती थी, ते थे अथवा या, यी ये आदि लगा रहता है, तथा अंग्रेजी के वाक्यों में मुख्य क्रिया (main verb) के रूप में Verb का second form रहता है |
जैसे-
मैं फल खाता था | मैंने फल खाया | वह दिल्ली में रहता था | हमलोगों ने पतंग उड़ाया | खिलाडियों ने मैच जीता | तुमने प्रश्न किया | |
I ate fruits.
He lived in Delhi. We flew kites. Players won match. You asked question. |
वाक्य की बनावट (Structure of Sentenses):
Affirmative Sentnese:
Sub. + V2 + obj.
Examples:
(1) I took medicine at yesterday night.
मैंने कल रात में दवाई लिया |
(2) Mohan lost his purse.
मोहन ने अपना पर्स खो दिया |
(3) You made a plan win match.
तुमने मैच जितने का एक योजना बनाई |
(4) We carried luggage on head.
हमने सर पर बोझ ढोए |
(5) They tried to do their best.
उन्होंने अपना सर्वोतम करने की कोशिश किया |
Negative Sentense:
नोट: Did का प्रयोग सभी प्रकार के subjects के साथ होता है |
Sub + did not + V1 + obj.
Examples:
(1) She did not cook food.
उसने भोजन नहीं पकाया |
(2) He did not watch movies.
वह फ़िल्में नहीं देखता था |
(3) I did not play music.
मैंने संगीत नहीं बजाया |
(4) The farmer did not irrigate crops.
किसान ने फसल की सिंचाई नहीं की |
(5) You did not live in Mumbai.
तुम मुम्बई में नहीं रहते हो |
Interrogative Sentense:

Examples:
(1) Did they do their works?
क्या उन्होंने अपना कार्य किया ?
(2) Did you mix water into milk?
क्या तुमने दूध में पानी मिलाया ?
(3) Did she water to the plants?
क्या उसने पौधों में पानी डाला ?
(4) Did he run with horse?
क्या वह घोड़े के साथ दौड़ा ?
(5) Did boys learn their lessons?
क्या लड़कों ने अपना पाठ याद किया ?

W.H + did + Sub. + V1 + Obj?
Examples:
(1) When did she come from office?
वह ऑफिस से कब आयीं ?
(2) Why did you quarrel with me?
तुमने मेरे साथ झगडा क्यों किया ?
(3) Where did students go then ?
तब विद्यार्थी कहाँ गये ?
(4) What did we see in the zoo?
हमने चिड़ियाघर में क्या देखा ?
(5) How did Arun pass his exams?
अरुण अपनी परीक्षा कैसे पास किया ?
Past Continuous Tense
Past Continuous Tense
पहचान: इसके हिंदी के वाक्यों के अंत में (क्रिया में) रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे आदि लगा रहता है | जैसे-
मैं रो रहा था |
वह लड़ाई कर रहा था |
मैं ध्यान से सुन रहा था |
वह मेरी मजाक उड़ा रही थी |
जबकि इंग्लिश (English) के वाक्यों की मुख्य पहचान यही है कि subject के साथ was/were और मुख्य क्रिया (main verb) में ing लगा रहता है |
जैसे -
I was weeping.
He was fighting.
I was listening carefully.
She was making a fun of me.
Structure of sentences वाक्य की बनावट :
Asserative Sentence:
A.V: Subject + was/were + Verb1 + ing + object + other words.
Ex: मैं संगीत बजा रहा था |
I was playing music .
Negative Sentences:
A.V: Subject + was/were + not + Verb1 + ing + object + other words.
Ex: वे लोग अपना रक्त दान नहीं कर रहे थे |
They were not donating their blood.
Interrogative Sentences:
Helping Verb:
A.V: Was/Were + Subject + Verb1 + ing + object + other words?
Ex: क्या वह खुश हो रही थी ?
Was she being happy?
W.H family:
A.V: W.H + was/were + Subject + Verb1 + ing + object + other words?
Ex: वह कब अपना पाठ सीख रही थी ?
When was she learning her lesson?
Past Perfect Tense
Past Perfect Tense:
Asserative Sentence:
A.V: Subject + had + Verb3 + object + other words.
Ex: We had made a plan.
Negative Sentences:
A.V: Subject + had + not + Verb3 + object + other words.
Ex: Radha had not cooked food.
Interrogative Sentences:

A.V: Had + Subject + Verb3 + object + other words?
Ex: Had you seen a lion?
