Ans. Mme loisels’ life was very simple. She was well pretty once. She was invited by minister in the party. But she has no costume. She purchased a dress by her husband’s money. She borrowed necklace from her friend “forestier”. When she came back with her husband after attending the party. She found that her necklace was missed. Her husband borrowed 18000 francs from lenders and replaced the necklace with new. This changed loisels’s life Mr. and Mme loisel faced many difficulties. Mme loisels worked herself at home. In this way the course of the loisels, life changed due to the necklace.
Q2. what was the cause of matilda’s ruin? How could she have avoided it?
Ans. The necklace was the cause of matida’s ruin. She could have avoided it. If she did not borrow it, she did not face so difficulties, she could attend the party in simple dress. So she could have avoided it?
Q3. What would have happened to matilda if she had confessed to her friend that she had lost her necklace?
Ans. If matilda had confessed to her friend that she had lost her necklace, perhaps her friend forgave her. Matilda could not have bear so much of difficulties because the necklace was just only for 500 francs.

Ans. If I were caught in a situation like this, I will tell everything to the owner of necklace and after this depend on what does my friend think and say about this.

1. The characters in this story speak English. Do you think this is their language? What clues are there in the story about the language its characters must be speaking in?
Ans. I don’t think English is the language of the character in this story. Their language is French. The clues in the story are the names of the character which are all French. The use of ‘Mme’ before loisel or forestier also show that they are French short forms used for madam or Mrs.
2. Honesty is the best policy.
Ans. There is no doubt that honesty is the best policy. If you are sincere, honest or truthful you are not trapped in the web of lies. The berden of telling lie or concealing the reality is always on your mind and your peace is lost.
3. We should be content with what life gives us.
Ans. I don’t fully agree with the above statement. I believe that one of that one should not be greedy neither one should fell depressed or sad to think that other are more lucky and better than you. God also helps them who help themselves. So instead of envying others or feeling depressed for our lot, we should put all effort to improve it.
