Assignment Chapter – 9 Class 10^th

Three marks Questions:

Q1.      A tower stands vertically on the ground. From a point on the ground, which is 15 m away from the foot of the tower, the angle of elevation of the top of the tower is found to be 60°. Find the height of the tower.

 एक टावर जमीन पर उर्ध्वाधर खड़ा है | भूमि के एक बिंदु से जो टावर के पाद से 15 मीटर दूर है टावर के शिखर का उन्नयन कोण 60^० है | तो टावर की ऊँचाई ज्ञात कीजिए |

Q2.      A kite is flying at a height of 50 m above the ground. The string attached to the kite is temporarily tied to a point on the ground. The inclination of the string with the ground is 30°. Find the length of the string, assuming that there is no slack in the string.

एक पतंग भूमि से 50 मीटर की उर्ध्वाधर ऊँचाई पर उड़ रहा है | पतंग की डोरी भूमि के एक बिंदु से बंधी है | डोरी का भूमि से बना कोण 30^० हो तो डोरी की लंबाई ज्ञात कीजिए यह मानकर कि डोरी में कोई ढील नहीं है |

Q3.      A leader is 15 m long. It can be kept against a wall at an angle of 60⁰. How far its foot should be kept on ground from wall so that it fits completely with upper portion of wall.

  एक सीढ़ी की लम्बाई 15 मीटर है | यह एक सीधी दिवार से 60^० के कोण पर लगाया जा सकता है | इसे पाद को दिवार से जमीन पर कितनी दुरी रखा जाए ताकि दिवार की उपरी हिस्से से पूरी तरह फिट बैठ जाए | 

Q4.      A tree breaks due to storm and the broken part bends so that the top of the tree touches the ground making an angle 30° with it. The distance between the foot of the tree to the point where the top touches the ground is 8 m. Find the height of the tree.

 आंधी आने से एक पेड़ टूट जाता है और टुटा हुआ भाग इस तरह मुड़ जाता है कि पेड़ का शिखर जमीन को छूने लगता है और इसके साथ 30^० का कोण बनाता है | पेड़ के पद-बिंदु की दुरी, जहाँ पेड़ का शिखर जमीन को छूता है, 8 मीटर है | पेड़ की ऊँचाई ज्ञात कीजिए | 

Four Marks Questions:

Q5.      A strong rope was tied to the top of a 20 m high pillar to keep it standing and another end of rope was tied to a peg at the angle with ground of 60^०.  At what height from ground rope should be tied to this pillar so that the angle between ground and rope becomes 45^०.

      एक 20 मीटर ऊँचे खम्भे को खड़ा करने के लिए उसके शीर्ष से एक मजबूत रस्सी बांधी गई जिसे जमीन से 60^० के कोण पर एक खूंटे से बांधा गया है | जमीन से कितनी ऊँचाई पर से इस खम्भे को इस खूंटे से खिंची गई रस्सी से बांधे जिससे जमीन एवं रस्सी के बीच का कोण 45^० हो जाए |

Q6.      The shadow of a vertical tower on level ground increases by 10 m when sun’s attitude changes from 45° to 30°. Find the height of the tower, upto one place of decimal. (take √3 = 1.73)

 एक उर्ध्वाधर टावर की छाया समतल भूमि पर 10 मी० बढ़ जाती है जब सूर्य का उन्तास 45° से 30° हो जाता है | टावर की ऊँचाई दशमलव के एक स्थान तक ज्ञात कीजिए | (√3 = 1.73 लीजिये)

Q7.      The angle of elevation of the top of the tower from two points A and B which are 15m apart, on the same side of the tower on the level ground are 30° and 60° respectively. Find the height of the tower and distance of point B from the base of the tower. (take √3 = 1.73)
